Ashlee Simpson

When appearing for live performances, Ashlee Simpson performs live with a backing band. During the period from 2004 to 2006, the band consisted of Ray Brady (guitar), Braxton Olita (guitar), Joey Kaimana (bass guitar—from 2004 to 2005 Zach Kennedy filled this role), Chris Megert (keyboards and vocals—from late 2004 to 2005 Lucy Walsh filled this role), and Chris Fox (drums). In addition to her own first album, Ashlee Simpson sang a duet of the Christmas song "Little Drummer Boy" with her sister Jessica for the album Rejoyce, which they had sung together during the ABC variety hour special Nick & Jessica's Family Christmas.

Tyra Banks

Currently, Tyra Banks can be seen on television as the hostess, judge and executive producer of The CW Television Network show America's Next Top Model. In addition, Tyra Banks hosts The Tyra Banks Show, a daytime talk show aimed at younger women, which premiered on September 12, 2005. The show features stories about everyday people mixed in with celebrity interviews, much like the early format of The Oprah Winfrey Show. Under the slogan "Every woman has a story...and it happened to Tyra too," Tyra Banks promotes her show using emotional flashbacks to her own childhood and adolescence. Many of the episodes deal with issues facing women today. Tyra Banks and other experts give women advice on fashion, relationships and more. The first two seasons of the show were recorded in Tyra Banks' hometown of Los Angeles but, beginning with the fall 2007 season, the show moved to New York City.

Ashlee Simpson

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz's first album, Autobiography, debuted at number one in the U.S. in July 2004 with first week sales numbering around 398,000 copies. The album was certified triple platinum in September 2004. Ashlee Simpson co-wrote all of the album's tracks and described it as "very true to my emotions" in one interview, but critical reviews were mixed. Rolling Stone magazine's Peter Relic characterised Autobiography as a "mundane melange of Avril-ish brat pop and Sheryl Crow cod rock." E! Online wrote "Even if it doesn't wow you, Autobiography may surprise you." The single that preceded the album, "Pieces of Me," was one of the biggest hits of the summer in the U.S. and sold well elsewhere. However, the follow-up singles, "Shadow" and "La La," were less successful.

Taylor Lautner

In 2005, Taylor Lautner won the role of Shark Boy in the Robert Rodriguez film, The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D. Taylor Lautner spent three months on location in Austin, Texas filming. Months later, Taylor Lautner successfully auditioned to play Elliot, the son of the Bakers' rivals, in Cheaper by the Dozen 2.
